Subwaves dancefloor destroying Dreamcatcher finally arrives on PLAT008. Needing no introduction, if youve been out at all in the past year, youve no doubt heard its distinct bassline shaking the venue. Soaring strings swim amongst ethereal vocals as a simple hi-hat loop leads the way, until a hard-hitting step takes you into the break. A warm lfod bassline provides the low-end pressure, while warping tones add pace throughout the phrase. Platinum pressure! On the flip, Subwave shows a darker, more technical side with Special Skills. Lo-fi tones are mixed with synthetic strings during the intro, a simple but effective beat providing the rhythm. With a swirl of delay, were taken into the drop which is announced with a huge midrange squelch. Razor edged beats are set against funk like shuffles, while a monstrous low end moves through various modulations, creating a twisted metallic beast of a track. Special skills indeed.
