Miami based DJ/producer and long time dance music aficionado Behrouz Nazari has been a supporter of Monique Musique from the very start. Not only has his lent his unstinting support to the label's archive of releases but he has also featured his own music on the label with 2009's 'Feelin Good.' With an award winning DJ career that has spanned 20 years, Behrouz has shared the decks with the finest names in the business at many of the greatest parties on the planet. His own productions have sat as comfortably in the sweat filled strobe lit clubs as they have atop the US Billboard Dance Chart and hugely respected by his peers, the musical chameleon has constantly striven to become a better DJ and producer, never allowing himself to be tagged by genre or sound, 'I'm always evolving with the music but never forgetting the past.' His latest release sees him drawing on both modern and historical influence as he serves up the superb double-header, 'Basic Movement.' I make music based on my experiences.. I'm a big fan of Basic Channel and of all the Chiapet records from the Yoshitoshi days. Last summer, every time I went out, I would hear these dubby techno records with melody coming in and out.' With his own unique touch and twist, Behrouz presents the sparse metronomic vibe of the title track and the sun-drenched melodic delight, 'Endless Night.' On remix duty Monique Musique pull off quite the coup by drafting in a German dream team. Objazz and Raum artist Dorian Paic takes Behrouz's dub-love to heart as he ramps up the bass and locks 'Basic Movement' into his 'Dub Of Doom.' Ilian Tape chief Dario Zenker follows suit on 'Endless Night,' but while he lets the drums roll its his use of the original's chord melody that really impresses. An excellent brace of mixes!
